Rob started racing in 2001 in the BMCRC GP125
Championship. He had never raced before and had never
even ridden a road bike, but someone he worked with had
a bike for sale and he decided to buy it and have a go
after a couple of test days.
A natural on the race track, Rob, at the age of 17,
won the BMCRC GP125 Championship title in 2002 and came
3rd in the MRO GP125 Championship in 2003.
At only 19 years of age, he went on to become the
runner up in the MRO GP125 Championship in 2004, as well
as finishing 12th in the BSB 125GP Championship. He also
gained a pole position, the fastest lap and a podium at
the BSB Knockhill round and went on to set the fastest
lap at the Silverstone BSB round.
Rob's goal for 2005 is to win the BSB GP125
Championship and he says he knows he can do it.
Racing for Rob was literally a turning point in his
life. He admits he was a "bad teenager" in the early
days but says that racing changed everything and has
done him the world of good. He says that racing is his
life, that it just clicked with him and is a very
important and inseparable part of him now.
He's spent days walking around local businesses
handing out his profile and emailing companies to try
and gain the necessary sponsorship he needs to carry on
racing but with no luck so far. He is hoping that he
will find some adopters who will join his team and be
part of his future successes. He says "I want to win and
I know I can."
Rob says he will treat and advertise his sponsors
well by offering free passes, hospitality and more. Will
you help?
